NASA’s Science: A Betrayal of Trust
|
On July 20, 1969, NASA forever changed human history when astronautsfirst stepped on the Moon. But what happened after that fatefulfootstep? How did NASA change from a pioneering organization into amembers-only bureaucracy that stifles scientific thought? Dr. J. MarvinHerndon tackles this question in his book, NASA’s Science: A Betrayal of Trust.Herndon cites examples of NASA neglect and censorship over the past 50years and explains how the organization willfully chooses to ignore thescientific method in favor of supporting their “accepted” truth. Withspecial focus on NASA’s reliance on fallible models, the fallibility ofmodels, history of data suppression and failure to cite divergentviewpoints, Herndon presents a very different view of the world’spremier space agency.
